Sharon Church war Schmuckdesignerin und emeritierte Professorin für Kunsthandwerk und Materialkunde an der School of Art der University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Sie erwarb 1970 ihren Bachelor of Science am Skidmore College und schloss 1973 ihr Studium an der School for American Craftsmen am Rochester Institute of Technology mit einem Master of Fine Arts ab. 1979 zog Church von Wilmington (Delaware) nach Philadelphia (Pennsylvania), um am Philadelphia College of Art (später „Craft + Material Studies“-Programm an der University of the Arts (Philadelphia)) zu unterrichten.

In 2022 the Smithsonian American Art Museum acquired and included her work in the Renwick Gallery’s 50th Anniversary Exhibition.
